Well done to Drogheda’s Gaelic football club Newtown Blues members for winning RTE Ireland’s Fittest Family!

After eight weeks of intense competition with families all over Ireland, the Nugent family is officially declared as Ireland’s fittest family.

The super-fit family from County Louth is made up of father Donal, mum Margaret and sons Danny and Finn. Danny Nugent has played GAA for Newtown Blues for seven years while father Donal Nugent has been involved with Newtown Blues for over 40 years, having retired at 38 and then going on to coach senior and underage teams.

What a fantastic year it has been for Newtown Blues! We are always happy to support the local community and our youth in Ireland.
